A great goal to have is to memorize neighborhood maps; especially if you are new to an area. Lots of people are now depending on GPS to get around. What if you encounter an area that is too new to be included on the GST maps ?
Once you have studied and memorized a neighborhood map, you will find it easier with the next map that you may wish to store in your long term memory.
If you are a parent, learning how to memorize neighborhood maps is something that you can also teach your children. If your child is, for some reason or another, separated from you during a family outing, they will be able to explain to another adult where they live.
